When starting or planning for a new design project, there's a few things you can do that will help your designer better understand your needs and objectives.
A little planning can go a long way and below are few suggestions that should help when preparing for a new project.
| Initial Planning |
| |
Take some time in the beginning to think about what you want in terms of style. |
Write down your thoughts or suggestions so you can reference them later. |
Gather a few links to other websites that are similar to the style you'd like to have for your website. |
Determine what features you want your new website to offer such as, e-commerce, subscriber based newsletter, blog, online calendar, customer login area, photo gallery, video, music, etc... |
Try to determine what areas or sections you would like your new website to have, such as... Home, About Us, Customer Info, Store, Gallery, Links etc... |
| |
| Meeting with your designer |
| |
When meeting with your designer, feel free to bring any artwork, graphics (such as existing logos) and photos that you wish to use on your new site. |
Ask us any questions you might have. We don't believe in stupid questions. |
| |
| Starting the project |
| |
When providing us with existing graphics (such as a logo), try to save everything on CD, DVD or in a digital format like a ZIP file so it can be easily accessed. |
Unless you've hired us to be your voice as well, try to provide all text in Open Office, Word or plain text files. |
To ensure that we meet your timetable, please be ready to answer any questions we might have during the design process. |
Our goal is to see your vision, chip away the rough edges and produce an end product that exceeds your dreams and expectations.
